​Cortez, Colo. January 15, 2019 -- 19 applicants were selected to partake in the 14th Class of the Colorado Agricultural Leadership Program. Applicants were required to fill out a written application and pass an oral interview to be accepted into the program.

CALP is a competitive two year leadership program that develops and enhances the leadership capabilities of diverse men and women committed to the future of Colorado's agricultural and rural communities. Fellow attend 10 seminars with 41 days of intense training. They will hear over 135 speakers, work with current leaders in agriculture, attend on-site industry leaders visits, receptions and discussions, produce the Governor's Forum on Colorado Agriculture and enjoy a network of over 300 alumni. CALP travels around the State, to Washington D.C., to another State and Internationally to study agriculture issues, political processes, development of leadership skills, team building, fundraising and communications.
The 14th class of the Colorado Agricultural Leadership Program will start the two year program at the 28th annual Governor's Forum on Colorado Agriculture, shadowing CALP Class 13 whom will conclude their two-year leadership development program at that time. CALP is an intensive, two-year agriculture leadership program, focused specifically on developing high caliber leaders for Colorado agriculture who are well-versed in the complex and diverse issues of food production, agriculture policy, and the converging interests of rural and urban populations in Colorado.
